Slaying the Computer Dragon

I have always been a Super computer ignoramus and have not made much     improvement since then. I only know the very basic functions such as where the on/off switch is, and how to use Microsoft word and PowerPoint. The best that I could go is to switch on the modem and connect to the Internet. To download files, I do not know, for I can never locate the downloaded stuff. Thus, whenever the computer goes cranky, the more I attempt to pacify it, the worse it become!

Despite the fact that I am such a computer idiot, I never cease to try to keep myself up to date with the computer technology. When I see the computer savvy friends of mine carrying the Palm Pilot, I realized that I must have it too! Unfortunately, being not “intelligent” enough to figure how to maximize its usage, the Palm is more like a White elephant!

The computer is likened to a dragon, which is highly temperamental in nature. When it is in a good mood, it can be your best friend. When it is in a foul mood, it can be your worst enemy! When that happened, I am like a princess trapped in the dungeon with the fiery dragons, waiting for my knights in shinning amour to come to my rescue.

If I am lucky, I would usually get rescued within the next 3 days I sent out the SOS calls. The knights, fully equipped with his full amour, will then begin a fierce battle with the dragon. Instead of slaying the dragon, many of them will finally throw up the sponge, after losing a crushing battle, leaving me in the lurch.

Poor me! Stuck in the cold, dark dungeon, with my angry dragon, with no hope of completing my tasks on time.

If I am fortunate enough to catch my dragon in a good mood, all I need to do is to feed it with tasty morsels of tidbits, specially purchased from Sim Lim Square. However, I have to be careful not to over feed him, for he will then suffer from severe food poisoning!

Keeping a computer dragon has its joy and sorrows, and here’s a poem for you, my dear computer dragon!
